What happens after I submit my application?
Once you have submitted your application you should receive an email from Admissions updating your application status within 5 working days of applying.
If you don’t see this, check your spam or junk email folders. If you still can’t see anything email the admissions team admissions@dumgal.ac.uk
2. Interviews
If you have received an interview appointment, this should be accepted from the applicant portal , or request a new appointment.
Progressing students and some courses may not require an interview, you will be emailed to advise if this is the case.
3. Offer / Transfer / Waiting List / Reject
After an interview you may receive an offer, transfer or be rejected.
Your offer may be :
- Unconditional
meaning you meet the entry conditions of the course - Conditional
you have something to do to meet the entry requirements before your offer can be made unconditional. This condition will be listed and is often to pass exams or current course - Transfer
you may be transferred to another course and will either need an additional interview with the staff from that curriculum area or you may have a conditional or unconditional offer as above - Waiting list
can be either conditional or unconditional and means we have accepted you onto the course but all spaces are currently full. You will be contacted as and when a place becomes available - Rejected
if your application is rejected you will be informed of the reasons for this at interview and should be given alternative options or this may be as you have not met the condition of your offer. You will be able to apply for a different course.
4. Induction
Once you have an offer, over the summer you will be emailed details of the induction that you must attend. This will allow you to familiarise yourself with the college systems and provide information on the college plus support that is available etc.
5. Enrolment
Students who have an unconditional place will be emailed an enrolment link from July onwards. This should be completed as soon as possible. This allows you to show on the class register and secures your place on the course.
Once your online enrolment is complete you will be given a login for the college system and this will ensure you have all necessary access prior to the start of the course.
We have an additional guide to getting enrolled on the Student Portal if you need it.
6. Welcome Days
We will offer welcome days for all students who are new to our campuses or anxious about attending. This will include a tour of the college and introductions to our support teams. Help from these teams will also be available on the day including help to enrol online.
