Class Reps
Class Reps help make college life better by sharing their classmates’ ideas and feedback with staff and the Students’ Association to act upon.
What is a Class Rep?
A Class Rep is the voice of your class chosen by your class.
You feedback on the views, ideas and concerns of your classmates to help improve learning, teaching and the wider student experience at DGC.
Who can become a Class Rep?
- Any current DGC student can put themselves forward for their class.
- No previous experience is needed – support is available.
- Class Reps need to maintain at least 75% course attendance to be and remain a Class Rep.
What you’ll do
- Listen to your classmates and gather their views.
- Share what is going well and what could be improved with College Staff and Student Association.
- Join Class Rep meetings and report back to your class.
- Help promote surveys, support opportunities, clubs and groups.
What you’ll gain
- Support from the Student Engagement and Capacity Lead and the Students’ Association.
- Communication, teamwork and leadership experience – great for your CV, personal statements and future applications.
- The chance to meet other Class Reps and College staff.
- An invitation to the Class Rep Conference.
- The opportunity to make a difference at DGC.
Class Rep meetings
Meetings are a friendly space to share feedback and ideas. They usually take place every four to six weeks.
- Choose from in-person and online sessions held across the week.
- Attend one lunchtime session during that week.
- If you cannot attend, another student from your class can go in your place.

Gather views from your class from class meetings, discussions and surveys

Raise feedback with staff and the Students’ Association.
Step 3
Update
Report back to your class with any updates and what happens next.
