How to report a near miss

At Dumfries and Galloway College, your safety matters. Sometimes things happen on campus that could have caused harm but fortunately didn’t — these are known as near misses. Even though no one was hurt, reporting these incidents helps us fix potential risks before they become accidents.

We've added a short guide to explain what a near miss is, why reporting matters, and how you can easily let us know if you spot something. By taking a moment to report a near miss, you’re helping keep the College a safer place for everyone.

New Temporary Bus Stop Location

Due to site works the Bus stop will move to a temporary location in the main college car park where the current drop-off layby is from the 9th November 2025. Some car parking spaces will also be temporarily removed to allow buses to turn effectively.

Temporary Bus Stop

Due to a major project underway on campus, which is affecting access to the turning circle and bus stop area, the College needs to put in some temporary changes to access for buses. The change is in place to ensure the health and safety of all for the duration of the project.

Effective Monday 27th October 2025 until further notice all buses to Dumfries Campus will need to drop off and pick up via the Crichton Campus bus route, with the nearest stop marked on the attached map. Please note this is for all services, and will include any drops and pick ups for the school
